Advertising and Sponsored Content Policy

Last updated: 19 October 2026

MtaaniWeb is supported by businesses that pay for promotion. This policy explains how paid content is handled so that users can always tell it apart from editorial content.

1. Clear labelling

Every sponsored placement, campaign post and paid feature is labelled as sponsored. Labels are never hidden or removed.

2. Editorial independence

Editorial content is chosen and written by MtaaniWeb. Paid promotion is always labelled as Sponsored and is kept separate from editorial content. Paying for promotion never grants a verification badge.

3. Where sponsored content appears

Sponsored placements appear on clearly marked surfaces such as category pages, neighbourhood pages, discovery listings and sponsored feed positions.

4. Standards for advertisers

Paid content must be truthful, lawful and consistent with our Content Guidelines. We may refuse or remove any campaign that is misleading, offensive or harmful.

5. Labels are independent

Verified, Claimed, Featured and Sponsored are independent labels. Paying for a campaign never makes a business Verified.

6. Your own advertising accounts

Where advertising runs on Meta, TikTok or Google, the advertising budget is separate from MtaaniWeb's service fee, and you should keep ownership of your accounts where possible.

7. How often you see ads

Ads follow session rules. You will not see an ad on your first page, ads are spaced apart, only a small number appear in one visit, and the same ad is not repeated again and again. Ads can be matched to the page, the time of day and the neighbourhood, never to who you are.

8. Measuring ads

We count how often an ad is shown, tapped, and followed by an action on the advertised item. These counts are anonymous and are shared with the advertiser as totals in a report.

9. Questions
